June 2, 2023 - North Carolina insurance agent Meredith Baldridge has served her community of Brevard, NC for the past 20 years.
Initially starting her career as an insurance claims representative, her agency now oversees the coverage needs of over 5,500 households.

We caught up with Meredith to talk about five things she loves about Melon Local!
1. VIP Customer Service
My CSM (client success manager) has completely taken the time to get to know me, my agency and what we’re trying to focus on.
It’s not about what numbers he can send us but where we can grow and trying to figure out how to make that work for my agency.
If my team sees something that’s not working right, we talk about it, and he’ll tweak some things. If he’s unhappy with something, he’ll come in mid-stream and say, ‘I’m not liking this. We’re going to make some adjustments.’ He has been a key component in definitely changing how we’ve gone through our advertising in the past year.
2. More Quotes
The last group I was with talked about impressions, but they didn’t necessarily translate into quotes. My CSM doesn’t focus on that. He’s like, ‘How many quotes did we get this month?’
I went from maybe an average of two quotes a month to 45 plus a month.
That was a huge lift for us in actually writing and closing business. Our close ratio has been really strong on those quotes we’ve done — over 50 percent!
3. Monthly Call-Ins
I love the monthly call-ins and reports, as well as the recap after everything else.
Our conversations are like, ‘I noticed you need to tweak X, Y, Z,’ and he gives me key points on how to do that.
For instance, if I need to update something on my website or he notices something wrong, he’ll tell me. He makes it easy for me to go in and check things, which is great for me because I didn’t even know I had issues that were out there.
He’s always finding a backdoor solution for me to make sure everything is going correctly — things I wouldn’t even know to check.
4. Expanding Our Digital Reach
My CSM has also made me aware of the importance of targeting outside of my tiny local area. He’s finding other spots to focus on within my state licenses. He’ll say, ‘I’m really figuring out that somebody’s not even working this area. How do you feel about working renters leads in another part of the state?’
We’ve had great success because we didn’t just write renters policies but the auto insurance as well.
5. Money Well Spent
I was spending a ton of money with the other companies.
Everything was all about impressions, but when I would go and pull those numbers for quotes, it didn’t correlate into business for me when I started drilling it down. I was spending anywhere between $4,000-5,000 a month. I don’t really know what my return on investment was.
Now, I have a healthy budget, as my CSM calls it, but that budget is so much less, with a bigger return on my investment!
With one-on-one coaching with him every month, I feel like I’m getting a huge return. He’s more of a consultant for me for advertising and thinking outside the box.
